I first heard about the Vitamix juicer through a television show. I liked the concept of quick and healthy eating but I generally think I am smart enough not to be influenced by it.

So, after the TV show, I went to online to do research the Vitamix juicer myself. I also asked a friend of mine who is a chef in local hang out and he says he uses one for his bistro. I was convinced it was right choice for me but the price was out of my budget, so I hesitated to buy for sometime. Eventually, my desire to eat healthier won over my budget and I bought a Vitamix juicer for my home. Here is my analysis after 4.5 months of using the Vitamix juicer in my kitchen.

Using the Vitamix Juicer

The Vitamix juicer has a broad mouth feeding tube, large enough o accommodate large fruit. Several apples or pears can be placed in the juicer as watch as the juice is extracted in no time. Some models of the Vitamix juicer have a dual placement sop that collects the juice.

After use cleaning is additionally not a difficulty at all, with this Vitamix juicer product. All the components are dishwasher safe and a person can easily clean the gear with simplicity. Despite all its elaborate characteristics, the Vitamix Juicer is a comparatively easy equipment. The stainless metallic appearance gives it a elegant edge over many others. Easily, a top quality juicer this kind as this can jazz up any cooking area platform. If you have a household total of health freaks, buying a Vitamix juicer of could be very important for you. A Vitamix Juicer review

I have had my Vitamix juicer 5000 for 5 and 1/2 years and could not be happier with it. Not only does it blend full frozen bananas (see other review), the powerful motor can do a lot more.

We use our Vitamix juicer primarily for smoothies and milkshakes, and have learned that as long as there is some liquid in the container with the ice cubes and frozen bananas it will blend all into a smooth drink with ease.

The machine is loud for sure, not something you can hold conversation over, but we’ve noted that it blends so quickly, that the moments it takes to liquify are over before we’ve forgotten what we would have said anyway.

Clean up is also amazing with the Vitamix juicer. As the Vitamix reps demonstrate, all we’ve done to clean it up after is wipe down any smoothie residue on the outside of the spout, fill container 1/3-ish of the way up with warm/hot water and a drip of soap, then blend on high for 30-ish seconds. Every month or so I DO wash a bit more thoroughly with maybe a drip of bleach and a scrub brush. One thing to consider though, is the longer you leave your container dirty the harder it will be to clean after. If you just rinse right away, you’re golden.

I cannot rave more highly about this machine. I’m sure that the multiple hundred dollar price tag is a turn off to most if not all, but consider the time saved as well as more options for healthy beverage alternatives! We’ve loved our Vitamix juicer and you will too!

Best Helmet Cam: How to use the GoPro HD Helmet HERO Camera

I have used this helmet camera a couple of times since buying it last Christmas. I have used both the strap mount for my vented bicycle helmet as well as the permanent stick on mount for my dual sport motorcycle helmet. In both cases, the mounts work as well as the camera. I still have the previous generation GoPro HERO in standard definition, but not in the wide field of view lens configuration like the current HD version. I like the wide field of view of this HD model. It is great at giving a very good view of both the trail as will as your handlebar movements while riding both my mountain bike or motorcycle. The quality of the video is fantastic. The files do get large, but that is to be expected with the high resolution of this camera. I have been using a 16GB SDHC card and have filed up about half of it on one battery charge. I would recommend a high speed card reader to improve the download times from the card on this best helmet cam. A 12 min video was nearly a gigabyte. The battery last I think longer than the previous standard definition camera which ran on AAA batteries. I think that I will buy an additional battery someday for long rides with lots of action.

I am looking forward to the expansion port options being available, like the LCD screen to view the videos in the field. I am also thinking of investing in the chest strap mount so I can get different view over the handle bars as will as making it easier to see the small status display. Other than the small icons telling you which mode, this is a very nice camera that takes very high quality action videos. It is very small and light and easy to use when you have it in the right mode. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone wanting action videos of their bicycling, motorcycle, or skiing activities.

Best Helmet Cam: A few cons about the GoPro HD Helmet HERO Camera

Of course, all products have a few annoying glitches, it’s natural that the best helmet cam has a few worthy to mention. The quick release mounts have a bit of wiggle to them. The back of the waterproof case can be difficult to lock closed. The menu system is a bit troublesome to use as there are only two buttons and three LCD characters to use. Once set you’ll not have to go into the menu very often.

The suction mount is worthless–most are. The suction cup wouldn’t hold to any surface. I glued the suction mount’s base to a plate with a bolt extending out from the base which was then attached to a magnet which was then mounted to my truck’s roof. The magnet should not be near the camera. So all was not lost on the suction mount. I’d rather have the chest harness for motor sports than the suction cup. The helmet mounts work very well.

Overall, I have to say that this is the best juicer at this price range. This juicer is not cheap by any stretch but you will be satisfied with its features and overall performance. Sure, it’s nice to see all the bells and whistles but at the end of the day we bought this because it does a great job at creating good and nutritious juices. The best juicers to me are the ones that blend form and function, and can deliver on its claims.

This is my video review of the AT2020 USB microphone from Audio-Technica. USB Microphones are made to be plugged in directly to a laptop or desktop. I connected this to a Vista 64 laptop during filming and did the voice over on a Macbook Pro.

I give this product a 5 star rating. It is easy to use, high quality and very competitively priced. This is a great desktop mic to use for making podcasts or recording music.

I am not a musician so I am not able to speak to that aspect of the microphones ability. I did use it to make several voice over videos and it performed perfectly. Never a hick-up or any spurious noises heard at all.
